The Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation was established on October 5, 2001 by an amendment to the Public Corporations Act (1988) with the mandate to administer, operate, maintain and develop the facility.
Located at Timehri, CJIA’s management is also responsible for all non-regulatory functions of Guyana’s main port of entry.
Its mission is to provide an airport that is safe, efficient, financially viable and user friendly while providing a quality service that meets and exceeds all required International standards.
