KINGSTON - The River and Sea Defence Unit within the Ministry recently completed a section of sea defence work at Bush Lot/Maida, Corentyne (Region 6) - a community vulnerable to the sea.
The project covered 200 meters and necessitated the construction a slope with gabion mattress filled with gabion stones.
Further, Cabinet gave its ‘No-Objection’ to commence another section [825 meters] at Bush Lot/Maida.
According to Chief River and Sea Defence Officer, Kevin Samad, work is expected to begin during the month of September.
