KINGSTON - As part of the Guyana National Road Safety Council’s month of activities, the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the West Coast Demerara Road Safety Association will be hosting a Community Road Safety Awareness Fair.
The event, which is being held under the theme: “Save A Life – It Could Be Yours”, is set to take place on Saturday November 28, 2015 at the Vreed-en-Hoop Bus Park from 12:00hrs.
The Road Safety Fair will involve key road safety stakeholders including MPI, the West Coast Demerara Road Safety Association, the Guyana Police Force, the Ministry of Health, insurance companies and others. Additionally, there will be interactive presentations, exhibits, and informative road safety materials for not only the West Coast Demerara community members but all road users in Guyana.
The Community Road Safety Awareness Fair is also a part of the Community and Driver Road Safety Education Component of the Fourth Road Project-West Coast Demerara Road Improvement.
The fair will be a significant opportunity for the public to learn more about road safety concerns, in order to reduce the incidents of road traffic accidents.
Furthermore, it is hoped that information presented at this fair will help members of the communities be more vigilant as it relates to their own safety and that of other road users while commuting.
