Minister Edghill briefed on current and future developments at Eugene F. Correia Int’l Airport
(September 4, 2020) – Honourable Bishop Juan A. Edghill on Friday, September 4, 2020 was invited to a meeting with the management team at the Eugene F. Correia Int’l Airport (EFCIA) where they discussed pertinent challenges, accomplishments and future plans at the Airport.
Present at the meeting were; Ronald Reece, Director of Ogle Airport Incorporated; Col. Ret’d Anthony Mekdici, Chief Executive Officer at the EFCIA; Michael Correia, Chairman at Ogle Airport Incorporated; and Kit Nascimento, Public Communications Consultant to EFCIA.
The pertinent areas discussed were: the expansion of the airport to the northern airstrip, expansion of the taxiway, expansion of hangers - so as to facilitate larger aircrafts and possibly larger jets, safety violations, and security fees.
Following the meeting, the management team facilitated a guide tour of the airport.
In conclusion, Minister Edghill requested that the issues and concerns raised should be formally documented by way of letter and he is committed to continual engagement with all the stakeholders at this facility.
