Jet Blue touches down in Guyana for the very first Time.
- A total of 160 Crew Members inclusive of passengers were abroad.
12th December, 2020 - Honourable Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan A. Edghill; Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Honoutable Deodat Indar; Director General of the Guyana Civil Avaition Authory, Redt Lt. Col. Egbert Field; Chief Executive Officer of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Mr. Ramesh Ghir; Chief Executive Officer of Go Invest, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop; and other officials from the Guyana Civil Avaition and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport attended the official inauguration of the Jet Blue flight into Guyana.
Minister Edghill along with his colleagues witnessed the official watering of the Jet Blue Aircraft as well as welcomed the passengers as they disembarked the plane. Children also received tokens for the Christmas season as they arrived on the first Jet Blue Flight to Guyana.
Minister Edghill in an opened comment noted that he welcomes Jet Blue airline into Guyana and he looks forward to welcoming many more as Guyana continues on its upward projections.
Minister also noted that with the advent of this new carrier it opens the door for more competition as flights will be offered at a more cheaper rate to the travelling public.
According to Minister Edghill this is also great for Guyana as it fosters the economy to grow as visitors during this period will be involved in commercial and recreational activities.
Further, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar echoed the same sentiments as Minister Edghill as he noted Jet Blue coming to Guyana means more commercial activities and development.
The Government of Guyana and by extension the Ministers of Public Works, Cheddi Jagan International Airport and the Guyana Civil Avaition Authority wishes to extend congratulations to Jet Blue as they conduct business in Guyana
Guyana welcomes Jet Blue.
